Tinku The word tinku means encounter; this traditional dance and musical rhythm borns in the North Potosi region and in the Oruro's south. In this ritual dance the natives of different towns arrives to the encounter and figth against them; with they'r blood they offer a tribute to the mother earth (Pachamama) asking for abundance and fertility. This rhythm it's played generally with a tuning called quimsatemple and choirs of women with high-pitched voices. |
